What is PATTM?
PATTM (Patent And Tech Transfer Management) is Harasoft's IP and technology transfer management system for university research offices and tech transfer centers. A single workflow engine manages 5 case types: patents, tech transfer, marketing, know-how, and other IP, with 40 form templates, 7 Excel reports, cross-border patent family tracking, online consent, terms auto-versioning, and structured committee decisions.
In production at Taipei Medical University's research office. Major 2025 upgrade complete.
Single workflow engine, 5 IP case types
FlowUtil.doFlow(type, ...) dispatches by case type (P/K/T/A/O). Adding a new type only requires extending type — the engine itself stays unchanged.
tech_trans · Technology Transfer
Full commercialization flow: self-assessment → plan → vendor selection → benefit allocation → approval → fee. Royalties, briefings, attachments, vendor master data — all structured.
ad · Marketing & Promotion
Compliant filing for outward promotion of tech transfer outcomes / products: applications, contracts, certificates, samples, products, consents, attachments — all logged.
patent · Patents
Full lifecycle from disclosure to maintenance. Includes cross-border patent family, country tracking, annual fees, online inventor consent, opposition screenshot archiving.

From paper attachments to structured data governance
In 2025, TMU's research office and Harasoft jointly completed a deep upgrade of PATTM, turning previously scattered paper attachments and Excel sheets into trackable, auditable, quantifiable structured data.
Online Patent Consent
Inventor co-ownership consent signed online — no more paper round-trips. Structured in CASE_PATENT_CONSENT_FORM table.
Used to rely on paper circulation, often lost; now fully traceable in-system.
Terms Auto-Versioning
PC_TERMS_VERSION table + auto-generated new version numbers + auto-deprecated old versions. New cases use new terms; old cases preserve their originally-signed version.
Satisfies "version signed at time of submission must be reproducible" — most systems can't do this.
Structured Committee Decisions
MEETING_CASE_DECISION with funding ratio / amount as DECIMAL CHECK constraints + unique indices. Zero gap between minutes and system data.
Funding totals always sum to 100%, units never confused — guarded at the DB layer.
The core principle of this upgrade: "What the meeting minutes say, and what the system records, are always the same."
